    Spring/ Summer 2026

A New Chapter for the MV Builders Association

The MV Builders Association started 2026 with significant organizational changes, all with the same goal in mind: to improve the membership experience at every level. If you joined us at our Annual Metting in January, you may have already heard some of the improvements. Here are some highlights we’d like to share.

The MVBA now offers 2 new membership options in order to better suit the needs and budgets of the islands growing small businesses and the growing number of island high school students entering the trade and design workforce.

Student Membership is FREE and available to any student currently enrolled into high school, college, trade school or other trade-related educational or licensing programming. This option allows students to participate in all MVBA educational and networking opportunities at no cost to them! We hope this encourages students beginning their career in the trades to meet local leaders in the industry and gain access to valuable continuing education classes and access to new fields in the trades or design.

The Multiple Business Membership option is designed for MVBA members who have more than one company or business endeavor. We recognize that many of our members expand their business offerings to meet their clients’ demands and we are now doing the same! Now all of your businesses can benefit from the value of the MVBA without having to pay the full rate for each of your companies.

These are in addition to the membership options we’ve have always offered in order to meet your business and educational goals. If you believe your business does not fit into one of these options, we want to hear from you! Email us at admin@mvbuilders.org

Looking Back at SparkMV 2025 and

How You Can Get involved in 2026

This past fall, the MVBA hosted the second annual SparkMV. It was once again a powerful platform for celebrating local tradespeople, their valuable skills, and connecting our youngest community members with masters of their trades. Thanks to our valued sponsors and supporters, the MVBA hosted an engaging and well-attended, family friendly event that was free to all who wished to participate. The energy at the Ag Hall was a true reflection of what makes this Island so special: collaboration, creativity, and inspiring the next generation.

    SparkMV 2025 By the Numbers:

  • Nearly 120 children registered in engaging and age-appropriate activities. The average age of participants was 7.
  • 23 tradespeople and companies presented their skills through innovative activities which showcased their specialties
  • 11 generous sponsors donated to SparkMV to help us create a safe, free, family-friendly event available to all in our community to introduce the next generation to the trades.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share that SparkMV 2026 is scheduled for October 17, 2026, and we are already building what promises to be an even more dynamic and impactful program. We would be honored to partner with you and perhaps show off your skill with our participants, and continue building on the momentum we garnered the last two years.

In the coming weeks, we will share details on how you too can be a part of this annual event celebrating the skilled tradespeople in our community and how we can inspire leadership and appreciation for the next generation. We hope you will consider joining us for this important community event.
