Join us for a presentation on lateral force resistance in wood-framed buildings. We’ll discuss how wind forces are determined and tracked through a structure, and why lateral systems are more complex than they used to be. This presentation will also review how sheathing material and anchor bolt type impacts structural capacity as well as the size and quantity of hold-down anchors. Finally, we’ll illustrate how the structural engineer uses wall and window layouts to place and design shear walls.
